About Melinda Murray

Melinda Murray was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended local public schools in Los Angeles and graduated with honors from Palisades High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from University of California, Santa Barbara and a Juris Doctor from U.C.L.A. School of Law. 

Melinda is currently a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County. She has dedicated her career at the District Attorney's Office to protecting the victims of Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, Sex Crimes and Human Trafficking. She is currently assigned to the Bureau of Central Operations. In 2019, she was designated as a Top Woman Lawyer of California by the Daily Journal. 

In 2015, Melinda was appointed to the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission. She was elected as President of the commission in 2018. As President, she led the development and implementation of the City's Municipal Lobbying Ordinance and Matching Funds Program. She collaborated with city entities including the Budget Committee and the Planning Commission.
