About Justin Ramirez

Justin Ramirez is a Hollywood resident and was appointed in April of 2025 by Mayor Bass and Council President Harris-Dawson to serve as the Executive Director of the Charter Reform Commission. Prior to returning to LA, Justin served in the Biden Administration at the US Department of Transportation, where he worked in the office of Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
 

Justin is a Long Beach native, and has a BA in Political Science and a JD. Barred in the State of California, he has worked on campaigns doing voting rights and voter protection work at the local, state and national levels. Justin also previously served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Bulgaria and in former Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia's office as deputy chief of staff and LA Metro Board deputy.
